The Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind is celebrating its 150th Anniversary in 2010. The Charity continues to provide vital support and services for people with sight loss In Sheffield, supporting over 3000 people of all ages. The Charity is holding a summer evening walk to raise awareness of sight loss and also to raise funds for the charity. The walk takes in the beautiful Chatsworth countryside and is followed by a hog roast in the elegant Stables.
You can help the charity further by raising sponsorship for the race; there will be a competition for the most amount of sponsorship raised. In an attempt to raise awareness during a short section of the walk, our sighted supporters will be asked if they would like to take part in an exercise by wearing SIM specs. These glasses simulate the different types of eye conditions that people live with on a daily basis.
On the day there will be a hog roast (vegetarian option available) and a hot drink provided for participants, along with musical entertainment and reduced entry to the Chatsworth garden prior to the walk. So come along and support The Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind!
There is free parking in the Chatsworth car park for participants.
